Thelyphonus doriae hosei
Spotted among other ant colonies near a huge mango tree. I tried to use stick to test how it will react using its huge claws on its mouth. But the thing did not do anything, just moved away from me.
They burrow under logs, rotting wood, rocks, and other natural debris. They prefer humid, dark places and avoid light.
Here's what they look like in the southwestern United States. As you can see, they are very similar. :-)

Not totally "harmless". The wire-like tail is capable of squirting a strong vinegar-like acid at you if it feels threatened. Nevertheless , they are very very cool creatures, and I am so jealous that you found one! (we have them in Florida, and I've been wanting to catch one for educational programs I do! ).
Yes, it's vinegaroon or whip scorpion. Thanks for sharing the info. Now I know it has no venom and safe to have it crawling and burrowing at the farm.
This eight legged arachnid is related to scorpions and spiders but has no venom. The first pair of modified legs are used as feelers and not for walking. Ants are insects with six legs but a mistaken identity is not unusual in biology. Welcome to PN. We love your first contribution.
What ever it is... (whipscorpion sounds about right) It is defiantly an arthropod :)
