Description:

About 12 millimeters in length, colored as shown. Normally very alert and fast-moving, this pair paused during courtship (male on top).

Habitat:

Male attempting to mate with female on a blooming saltcedar tree (Tamarix sp.) in a vast open field of degraded shortgrass prairie with sunflower, yucca, prickly-pear cacti, and scattered elm trees.
