That's a wonderful tree. I also look forward to discovering what it is.
The butterfly is likewise stunning enough to deserve it's own listing. What a great shot!

Wonderful spotting! I've been collecting these caterpillars off my young satsuma trees all summer. They are much too hungry for my young trees but I've been able to find another source of host plant. It's been a delight to see them turn into butterflies. Btw the category can be updated to arthropoda.

Nice spot! That's the largest butterfly in the US and Canada. I'm not 100% sure but I think the flower it's on is a species of Delonix.
