Cuban Laurel Thrip

Gynaikothrips ficorum

Habitat:

pest on ficus hedges

Notes:

A few years ago they replaced many of the nice hibiscuss hedges in my condo complex to ficus. It didn't take long until it was crawling with this little guys. They cause leaf damage and cause the leaves to fold close.
