A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Rudbeckia hirta
The Black-eyed Susan caught my eye after seeing the variety of insects attracted to them. The wild flower is 1-3 ft tall. Its flower head has a conical center with a brownish-purple center surrounded by deep yellow petals. Stem is hairy.
Field of wild flowers.
The Black-eyed Susan is from the Coneflower family. Cultivated forms are named Gloriosa Daisy. Interesting note: they tend to revert back to the original form.
