European Mantis, male

Description:

Spotting #800! Smaller green mantis with purple femora on two pair of hind legs. Pink border on thorax, reddish border on wings, and red antennae. Distinctive spot on inside of raptorial (front) legs (see second image). This spot can be solid black or white with a black ring.

Habitat:

Short Hills Provincial Park, Ontario. Meadow.
