Red-headed Rock Agama

Agama agama

Habitat:

Native to sub-Saharan Africa, now one of the multitude of introduced lizards that call South Florida home. There is a vibrant population at Fairchild Botanical Garden. They can be seen mostly on the large rocks of the Madagascar Desert Garden.

Notes:

I know some people have photographed them in other locations in Florida. I have only seen them here. As seen in the photos, the males were in full breeding colors at this time of year.

It would be fun to visit FL to see the birds and lizards! Cool series!
