Yes Liam, i saw a male rosefinch recently nearby the same place where i saw this female. Unfortunately i wasnt able to take his pic, so its bit difficult to confirm the species as of now. But i will try to get a pic of the male for certainity of the ID.

Thank you Liam. Is it a female rosefinch? couldn't have missed the male of the species if it were present around here. But the beak does appear finchy :)

It looks like a female house sparrow, but I'm not familiar with the birds of India, so I could be wrong. This picture is one of my favorite themes; birds on barbed wire.
