Parrot Snake

Leptophis ahaetulla

Description:

About six feet long. As a defense mechanism, Leptophis will gape at predators (like me*), but in my experience they never strike. This individual was very photogenic. You can get an idea of the length in some of the last shots. *I had no intention of eating this or any other snake.
