snapping turtle

Chelydra serpentina

Description:

This snapping turtle was found near Maine Sport's Parking lot. It was crossing the road to go to the pond nearby. As it entered the pond I warned an kayaker in the pond that there was a snapping turtle lurking in the pond. It's shell was an light green, and its skin was a light brown. It gives you a long glare before it leaves.

Habitat:

Crossing the road into a swampy pond near Maine Sport.
