Anaxyrus terrestris
A medium sized toad (1.5-3 inches) with a brown/black back and legs. Underside light colored. Lots of little bumps all over the skin. Head has two elongated parotoid glands (one behind each eye) as well as pronounced cranial crests.
Southern toads can be found in every southeastern state except Tennessee. They mostly occur below the Fall Line from southeastern Virginia down to Florida and west to eastern Louisiana.
