Carolina Anole

Anolis carolinensis

Description:

Small, 3.5-4" long bright green lizard with cream band down its back. I'm guessing a female due to the cream dewlap/throat? It seemed genuinely curious as to what I was doing. Followed me as I changed camera angles. At one point, I thought it was going to hop on me! Green anoles have the ability to change between two primary shades, green and gray-brown. Skin color may change in response to ambient temperature or sexual arousal.

Habitat:

Perching on my front porch window. Surrounded by overgrown yard/field and mixed hardwood forest/loblolly pines
