A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pteropus Scapulatus
The fox bat is one of the largest bats. It has a 6 foot wingspan, and they weigh 2.2lbs. They live about 15 years in the wild and up to 30 years in captivity.
They live in tropical forests and sometimes swamps. They eat fruits, flowers, nectar, pollen and leaves.
I saw this at Animal Kingdome in Florida.
