This mushroom was found under a pepper tree in the foothills of Mt Diablo at an elevation of 2000ft. The cap was at least 6 inches in diameter,convex,beige with a blackish centre. The stem was between 1 to 2 inches. There was prominent stipe. the gills were brownish orange in color.
