From San Marcos Growers: "Lavandula dentata var. candicans (Gray Leaved French Lavender) - Often sold as Gray French Lavender, it is similar to the species but more robust. The leaves are a gray-green, and tooth-margined. They are grayer than L. dentata. Short spikes with pale lavender-blue flowers bloom nearly year round. It sprawls to about 3' x 5' , takes full sun, has low water needs, and is hardy to about 20 degrees F. The flowers of this lavender are not recommended for human consumption. This description is based on our research and the observations we have made of this plant as it grows in containers at our nursery, in our own garden and in other gardens.
