The spotting is of the plant rather than the bee - although if anyone can help with the ID of that too then great :)

The identification also explains the large nut-like fruit on a plant I spotted nearby! (See pic 4 - this was not the same plant, but it was taken at the same park I visited today, and is obviously the same species).
That is an amazing flower. I've never seen anything like it before! Gorgeous!!!!!
