Eulaema cingulata
Group of 4 Orchid bees on a flower, taken at Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park in Brazil.
Taken at Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park in Brazil, which is located in a Cerrado, Brazilian grassland, biome.
I guess they are not that solitaire.
Hi again. I'm sure is not E. meriana, they are much bigger bees, and they are pale yellow, not like cingulata, almost orange. Besides, E.meriana have many black bands (without hairs) in the abdomen. E. cingulata, like the bees in your picture, only have one black band.
JuanDiTrani, thanks for the help, do you think it could also be the Eulaema meriana? http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?searc...
Hi caiosassuncao. These are not bumblebees, they are orchid bees males, and are atracted to the scents of the flower
