rosette-forming shrub that grows 5-20 feet before flowering very rare and is found on only two Hawaiian islands, Hawaii and Maui very shallow root system
Found in lava flows, volcanic cinders, rare in bogs and open forests This plant was found on Maui's Haleakala Create. There are hybrids but this is not one of them.
