Description:

Christmas is well and truly over for this Christmas Beetle as Black Ants tear it apart piece by piece and cart back to an underground nest. Small black ant, prolific breeder and extremely busy, feasts on most things from sweet to savoury, tenacious species, often seen in multiple lines made up of individuals as they move from nest holes to and from food and moisture sources.

Habitat:

Found throughout Australia in many environments. These in dry woodland environment. More active in warm months and when rain or storms are building.
