Thanks D'rtanyon.The brown Rufus on the neck does indicate a Dessert Cottontail.Will update soon.

The desert cottontail Sylvilagus audubonii possibly. There are only eight main species of rabbit in california according to the state website. This looks very close to it but take a second opinion for sure!
