Description:

Cycads are living fossils. They existed before the dinosaurs and were probably eaten by them. They thrived in the forests of the Mesozoic and Jurassic periods. They are lush, green and beautiful to behold. These pictures capture the tender greens leaves sprouting in a spray of green. This one grows in the Malabar region of Kerala. It is about 10 years old.
