Elasmolomus sp.
Rhyparochromidae; Rhyparochrominae; Rhyparochromini; Elasmolomus sp. I have been unable to find much information about these bugs, but there are some websites with pictures and observation records. e.g. https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/355793-...
I spotted these Dirt Colored Seed Bugs on foliage at the edge of a rice field. In this small place, there is very little interference from humans. The undergrowth is dense and is shaded by the canopy of a row of mango trees between the edge of the road and the rice field. This is a place which I have noted down as a "hotspot" for insect life and other biodiversity. It is known locally for regular sightings of Reticulated Pythons and Tree Snakes. I know it best for a wealth of bugs and spiders.
After I uploaded this spotting, I came across an old note I had jotted down, indicating that my initial thoughts on this bug were that it might be Elasmolomus valbum (Stal,1859). There is a picture in https://singapore.biodiversity.online/sp... I looked at the Singapore Biodiversity picture again and I am still not sure. The problem is that my own photos are not of sufficiently good quality.
