Mockingbird is right - Thrashers don't have the bold wingbars like mockingbirds do.

This is very likely a mockingbird. Aren't thrashers heavily streaked?

Strikingly similar to the mockingbirds I see in Santiago de Chile. I thought it was a Mimulus tenca, but for the location it probably is a Thrasher (Toxostoma sp.) though I couldn't pinpoint to one species, still looks more like Mimus tenca to me.
