Longhorn Beetle

Glenea (Macroglenia ) elegans

Description:

About 5cm long. Mainly Black with yellow on its body but it had white spots on his back. Very long antennae and it flew like it was to heavy to carry itself.

Habitat:

Our garden in Phuket near jungle and mangroves.

Notes:

I heard a buzz and saw this bug flying by. It flew "standing up" and looked like it was super heavy. It landed on the banana leaf and stayed there for a photo shoot after which it flew of. It was to high to take it picture of its back unfortunately. It was gorgeous.

Looks like one of the Flat-faced Longhorns.
