Paper Wasp

Polistes annularis

Description:

This one has thrown me for the better part of the week since wasps aren't really my jam. I think I got it right, though. Paper wasps are pretty common around here.

Habitat:

Found along the sidewalk on W. Alabama, but they're all over Houston and the suburbs.

Notes:

Not sure why this one was grounded. Didn't appear to have any wing or leg damage. Thoughts? Was it the cold, maybe?
