Bodianus dictynna
Juvenile is maroon undercolor with indistinct stripes formed by numerous white spots and blotches. It also has black spots on ventral and anal fins. The juvenile is about 7.6 cm (3 in.); the adut can reach 25 cm (10 in.). Solitary, adult also in pairs.
Taiwan and S. China Sea to Great Barrier Reef, Fiji and Tonga. Commonly around black coral and gorgonian fans. Adults in outer reef slopes (6-25 m.).
