Variable in pattern, as R. quinquepunctatus - but the northern one never half-black like here.

It looks an awful lot like a Cocklebur Weevil - Rhodobaenus quinquepunctatus. I haven't been able to determine if that species is found in Mexico, but it has to be in the same genus.
