Eastern Horseshoe Bat

Rhinolophus megaphyllus

Notes:

This project involved catching micro bats in Iron Range, taking a small DNA sample, acoustic recording of the species, photographs and measurements to help figure out distribution, density and species abundance in the Cape York lowland rainforests. Was really fun to see all the different bats that were in the area.

It was actually by chance, they needed help and we were researchers camping there as well, so it worked out well.

His mouth is actually closed, what you are seeing is part of his nose
