I believe you are correct. I will correct. I was trying to learn all about the pollinating bees and so on. So many it is quite a task.
Hi Doreen! Do you have any other views? This looks like a species of Syrphid Fly. Many, many species of syrphids mimic bees and wasps. This looks more like a syrphid fly than a bee to me. Are you sure this particular one had a hairy belly?
