Habitat:

Found in most habitats in Florida, from seaside to undergrowth in pine forests. Staple of the dry scrub community.

Notes:

In the second picture you can see the "Saws" on either side of the leaf stem. Also notice that unlike in the Sabal/cabbage palm the leaf stem of palmettos does not extend into the center of the leaf.
