Red-shouldered Hawk

Buteo lineatus

Description:

This lovely RSH is probably one of the pair that nests in my backyard. At least I hope so! It was a real treat to watch them raising young last year and I hope to get to do the same this year,

Notes:

In my neighbor's yard.

Yes, Maksym :) Don't envy me too much. My backyard looks more like hawk habitat than a suburban backyard! We were afraid of disturbing them so we haven't mowed grass or raked leaves or pulled weeds in a year! LOL :)
