Spotting

Description:

Small green backed hummingbird with wingtips extending past tail - roughly the size of rufous. Throat free of the small red patch common to Anna's or rufous females.

Notes:

We have Anna's Rufous and Allens at our location, with occasional Costa's later int he summer. My husband has seen black chinned coming through in early migration and I saw what I was sure was a calliope. This is one of the three at best guess

I certainly kept that possibility at the back of my mind. They almost never are seen in our county of very avid birders. I kind of wondered
