Meandrina meandrites
Photo take at -40 ft on a coral reef. Colonies form both hemispherical heads and flattened plates, up to 1 m in diameter. The ridges are formed by smooth, widely separated septa. There is a thin line along the ridge tops, where the septa come together. Large polyps extend during night. Tan to yellow-brown and brown.
Inhabit most reef environments, down to 80 m.From Florida all the Caribbean sea, Central America to north Brazil.
