Yes! http://www.rogersmushrooms.com/gallery/D...

mentions being found on cow or horse dung. I laid out huge amounts of manure this year and that's where I'm finding it/them

Hmm I see.. Maybe Coprinus niveus (or some species from the Nivei subsection), based on the second picture, where, when you look closely, you can see it's already turning dark round the capmargin.

Closer - still no cigar. The buttons in both articles I found were rounder, less cylindrical.

Maybe you could check out Leucocoprinus cepaestipes!

I couldn't find the mature ones! They just disappeared... probably eaten as they were very small

Sorry, on reflection I don't quite know what I was thinking last night!

Yes, I agree now - it's a Coprinoid. Do you have any pictures of it mature? How big did it get? Did it remain pure white? I am now thinking Coprinellus or maybe Coprinopsis.

Sorry for my error.

Since to me they look more like coprinus, and we have many amanita species that look nothing like this in the button stage, may I ask on what you are basing your guess of amanita?

Probably Amanita
