Description:

Yellowish white with chevron pattern of narrow lines. Narrow black band across rear body which does not cover entire rear dorsal fin. Up to 23 cm. Solitary or in groups.

Habitat:

Coastal reefs and outer slopes to 30 m. E. Africa to Hawaii and French Polynesia, SW Japan to E Australia.
