A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Armadillidium vulgare
Small Oval shaped shelled creatures with antennas and several legs. They come in many shapes and colors. Some are look glossy or rough. they can be gray, black, brown, tan, red and can have spots or strips. They can be found living in groups.
Pill bugs like to live under fallen wood, foliage or rocks. They like it dark, moist and cool. The are not insects but crustaceans.
These are one of my favorite things. Fun little creatures to have young explorers study!
