What I thought at first was a large wasp buzzing around, perhaps is really some kind of fly mimic.

Seen in primary forest in the Renah Kayu Embun area of the Kerinci Seblat National Park, Sumatra, Indonesia.

Thanks, Midori! I think you're right! I see there are 7000 species of (known) robber fly, haha. Now to just narrow it down...!
