Upright plant with slightly hairy, reddish stems. The flowers are stalked and have five, deeply cleft white petals and a bulbous base. Lanceolate leaves. Native to Eurasia.

Habitat:

Hillside, temperate woodland area bordering a canal. Maymont Park, Virginia.
