Description:

I have no idea what these are. They lift easily off of the bed of pine needles, and have not changed appearance over time. They are quite hard, and rubbing one on concrete produced brown dust.

Habitat:

These appeared in an area where there was once a small evergreen bush (the bush died and had to be removed).
