Pavement Ant

Tetramorium caespitum

Description:

The pavement ant is about 2-3mm long. They range in color from brown to black with paler legs and antennae. Pavement ants can bite.

Habitat:

Pavement ants nest outdoors under stones, along curbs or in cracks of pavement. They also nest indoors in walls and under floors.

Notes:

Reproduction occurs when winged males and females swarm, often in June and July.
