American Dipper

Description:

In a family by themselves in the US, the American Dipper is an aquatic songbird. It spends lots of time walking on the bottom of mountain streams looking for food. They are short-tailed and gray all over. This one had a territorial Spotted Sandpiper that wasn't too happy to share its space (see last photo).
