Aurora Damsel

Chromagrion conditum

Description:

Partially open wings. Blue and black with yellow spot low on each side of thorax. Male has bright blue on S8-9 abdomen.

Habitat:

Vegetated edges of ponds, sphagnum bogs and slow streams. Also in wooded swamps with cold water flowing through. Usually in low numbers, and not often found far from water.

Notes:

I watched this pair of Aurora damsels interact around my koi pond.
