Long horn beetle

Family Ceranbycidae

Description:

Cerambicid beetles usually have as notable feature the long articulated antennas that have, in many cases, more than twice the size of the body of the insect. Although the vast majority of species are not very showy, intriguing format added to the large size that some species reach, attract the attention of collectors connected to the area of Entomology or even amateurs worldwide. Due to this demand, some exotic species have been victims of trafficking in wild animals - which with the support of deforestation and destruction of their natural habitats, have placed a large number of species at considerable risk of extinction.
