A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
A planthopper nymph walking slowly non stop in all direction trying to face away from my camera lens. It is displaying its waxy filaments that are modified into a shape that of a fan just like a peacock. The "fan" at the tip of its tail is striped with red and yellowish green color. These wax filaments help to hide (camouflage) it on wood surface that are covered in a light layer of lichen just as shown in these photographs. Central body only about 6mm or less.
On certain plants that helps to camouflage it, possibly on tree barks.
Sorry for the long wait friends, I have now started to continue adding my spottings from Maliau Basin. The technical problem that caused me to loose access to my Maliau Basin photographs has finally been solved, thanks to modern technology and God. >>>Map accuracy : 5km diameter.
