Tamias amoenus
The Yellow-pine chipmunk is a common site in eastern Washington, especially in conifer forest. It has a cinnamon brown body that gives way to smoke grey. Distinctive stripes on the face and back.
Spotted in a open pine forest in the foothills of the Cascade mountains. Uses open stands of ponderosa pine and Douglas-fir. Will use open grassland if cover is adequate.
Range is northwestern United States and southern British Columbia.
