Eucalyptus snout beetle

Gonipterus scutellatus

Description:

About 12mm. Rough brown back; weevil-like head; hopper-like legs.

Habitat:

Eucalyptus branches.

Notes:

I was really amused by the way it rests with it's two front pairs of legs wrapped around the edge of a leaf and it's antennae tucked between those legs.... very comfortable.
