Cicada!
Thanks Antlisa, StephenSolomons, KarenL and Gilma Jeannette Ospino Ferreira-Norman. It was a huge cicada, the largest I have ever seen.

This is a newly emerged Cicada that has yet to harden. That is when the dark coloring becomes visible.
