Description:

Plant all brown; Capitulum dense; stems dark brown-black, cortical cells with faint spiral fibrils, and pores 2-4 per cell. Stem leaves large tongue/ strap shaped, cells with fibrils in latter 1/4 of hyaline cells; branch leaves broadly ovate, and hooded, hyaline cells with numerous small pores, branch leaf cross section with oval chlorophyllous cells more exposed on inner surface of leaf, and ornamented with pappillae.

Habitat:

This specimen was found at Cape Alave, Washington.
