Poecilotheria pederseni
Found in Hambanthota, Bundala, Yala, Monaragala area of Sri Lanka; the species has a good distribution. The species is observed to have tree preferences which are Manilkara hexandra (Sinhala name: palu tree) and Drypetes sepiaria (Sinhala name: weera tree).
Low land shrub forest and dense forest with scattered trees. Arboreal species (live in trees) as all other Poecilotheria.
As per observations and morphological studies (carried out in 2006- 2007): the species tend not to be aggressive. Have observed eating mice and geckos.

Yes Leanne, these spiders have nice colours and beautiful patterns. They could be used as icons in conservation of spiders.

Nope, not deadly for humans.
It has poison to kill its prey (something in average to bee/ wasp sting).
But is painful and swelling sometimes last for several days.
