Ridgway's Rail

Rallus obsoletus

Notes:

Same location different day as previous spotting. This was spotted on a +7 high tide. I was walking on the platform when the rail started it's call. It vibrated the boards. Everyone turned and looked at me. Then the rail flew out and started to walk along the edge of the bank. Seemed oblivious to the 7 birders following it a few feet above taking pictures. These are of the rail deciding to take a bath right in front of us. I missed out when the high tide flushed out the Virgina rail and the Sora.

Lucky you!
What a shame about the litter, though!
